Gavin Rajah wants to design your matric dance gown

Seasoned fashion designer Gavin Rajah is lending his hand to help make five young women's dreams come true in a competition where he'll be giving away tailor-made gowns to the deserving winners.

The designer announced the competition in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday, urging entrants to submit a motivational letter to info@gavinrajah.com, stating why they deserve to win.

Taking to Facebook‚ Lui reportedly posted images of her original designs together with screengrabs from Rajah’s magazine feature to show the alleged theft. 

Each winner, which will be announced at an unconfirmed date, and will receive a "dream dress" courtesy of Gavin Rajah.

  • Gavin Rajah denies ‘copy cat’ claimsLocal designer Gavin Rajah has denied stealing Asian-American designer Chelsea Lui’s designs‚ referring to the allegation as unfounded and defamatory.  

Speaking of the requirements to enter, Gavin explained: "Entrants should be enrolled in a school, have good grades and a making a difference in their communities or their own lives."
