Matric results made to order: iLIVE

Umalusi is the organisation that quality assures the matric results every year before they are published.

They do not reveal where they have "adjusted" the data because it is "confidential".

The organisation received its brief from Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga a few months ago, when she said she expected this year's matric results to be better than last year's results.

In other words, here is the target, now adjust the data accordingly.

This will also prove that, in Motshekga's words, "the minor irritation of not having textbooks in Mpumalanga should not have an adverse affect on the results".

In that case, don't issue any textbooks and you can save a whole lot of money.

With these sorts of people leading our education department, what chance do we have of improving our dismal education system ?
