Wealthy or middle-class parents whose children are in elite schools are protected from the virus's worst effects. As usual, this is not the case for the vulnerable poor.

The government reopened its schools while we were still climbing towards the peak of coronavirus infections and now that gooey brown stuff has hit the fan.

It was a reckless decision from start to finish.
