Many may try to avoid Blue Mondays while others like to forward to Phuza Thursdays, but when do most people let loose and celebrate a sexy day?
Lingerie experts Pour Moi wanted to find out on which day of the week people feel the sexiest and what times are favoured.
“As a sexy lingerie retailer we aim to make as many people as possible feel their best and most confident in their garments, be that alone or with a partner to enjoy,” said marketing manager Marina Nicol.
“It’s interesting to see how intimacy varies from person to person around the globe, but also to know it is the weekend evenings that seem to be the most popular time for people to feel at their most relaxed and ready to enjoy time with their partner.”

To find out what people preferred, they surveyed 2,000 adults who are in relationships, actively dating and/or sexually active. Respondents were from the UK, Ireland, US and Canada.
Saturdays came out the clear favourite, with 43% of respondents saying this was the most likely day they wanted or preferred having sex.
The average times found to be favoured among respondents were 10pm and midnight, with more than a third (34%) saying this is when they’re most likely to feel sensual. Of the 34%, an overwhelming 80% agreed the sweet spot is just before the clock strikes 10.10 pm
Pour Moi also investigated how often people are intimate, revealing that nearly half of respondents (48%) engage in sexual activity with another person once a week. A smaller proportion reported higher frequencies. It was found 19% of respondents have sex twice a week, 13% three times a week, and 7% four times a week. Only 1% of participants reported daily sexual activity.
When asked how often adults would like to have sex, it was revealed twice a week was most people’s ideal. Women between the ages of 25 and 45 have the highest drive for intimacy, stating four times a week would be ideal, compared to twice a week for men in the same age group.
