Internationally acclaimed drag performer Latrice Royale, who captured hearts on the RuPaul’s Drag Race reality TV series, will head to South Africa in November for two live performances in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

This marks the performer’s first visit to South Africa in 13 years since her acclaimed show Terms and Conditions May Vary.

“I’m way overdue for another visit and performance in South Africa,” said Latrice Royale.

“The energy, the love and the passion from South African audiences are unmatched. I’ve missed it so much, and I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone again.”

Known for her larger-than-life personality, infectious laughter and powerhouse performances, Latrice Royale captured hearts on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4 and later on All Stars 1 and All Stars 4.

Since then she’s become one of the world’s most respected and adored drag performers, touring globally with sold-out shows and spreading her message of self-love, joy and resilience.

Latrice Royale’s tour will feature her husband Christopher Hamblin and South African drag performers Manila Von Teez, Kat Gilardi, and Stella Rosé.

“It’s an absolute honour to share the stage with a global icon like Latrice Royale. She’s inspired so many of us to be fearless and authentic, so to see her perform live again in South Africa is going to be pure magic,” said Manila Von Teez.

Cape Town drag legend Kat Gilardi said: “Latrice Royale embodies everything that makes drag so powerful: heart, humour and humanity. Her presence uplifts every space she walks into, and we can’t wait to give her the big South African welcome she deserves.”

“I’ve always said drag is about connection. It’s about celebrating who you are, no matter where you’re from. South Africa has always shown me nothing but love. I’m ready to give that love right back,” said Latrice Royale.

The Cape Town performance will take place at the Barnyard Theatre in Bellville on November 19 and in Johannesburg at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on November 21.
