Massive tanker blaze closes N2 in Durban

A blaze‚ which already gutted a church after two tankers crashed on Tuesday morning‚ was rapidly spreading on the N2 in Durban. KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesman Robert McKenzie said paramedics were currently at the scene of a "major incident" on the N2 near NPC at the Sarnia road overhead bridge."A diesel tanker and a petrol tanker have reportedly crashed‚ resulting in a fuel spill which has caught alight‚ resulting in a massive fire‚ which is running down the highway.""The KZN EMS paramedics on scene have reported that the two people are being treated for minor injuries‚" he said.eThekwini fire and rescue personnel are busy trying to control the blaze‚ which has spread to both sides of the highway."The highway has been closed to traffic‚ with traffic being diverted at the M7 southbound and M1 northbound‚" McKenzie said. – The Times..
