Skwatta Kamp band member Nkululeko "Flabba" Habedi‚ his siblings and girlfriend Sindisiwe Manqele smoked dagga "as a family"‚ the Johannesburg High Court heard on Tuesday morning. This was the evidence of Habedi's cousin Mpho Motshoare‚ who is testifying in Manqele's trial‚ which started at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.Manqele is charged with the murder of her rapper boyfriend Habedi‚ 37. She has pleaded not guilty.Habedi died as a result of a stab wound to the chest at his home in Alexandra‚ Johannesburg‚ on March 9 this year. The state alleges that Manqele‚ 26‚ intentionally killed Habedi but Manqele has said she stabbed him in self-defence during an argument.Motshoare told the court that on the night of Habedi's death‚ he had been smoking dagga and drinking beers for two hours before Manqele and Habedi came back from The Sands‚ a lounge in Sandton where Habedi had performed.Manqele's counsel‚ advocate Norman Makhubela‚ asked Motshoare whether he would be surprised if Habedi had been drinking alcohol and smoking dagga at The Sands.Motshoare said he would not be shocked because they all did so as a family‚ Manqele included. The trial continues. - TMG Courts and Law..
