A Mpumalanga traditional leader has invited State Security Minister David Mahlobo and other ANC senior leaders to consult him for muthi to improve their sex lives.

Mabhiva Mashego, a headman at the Mashego Tribal Authority in Swalala outside Hazyview, was speaking to Mahlobo, provincial health MEC Gillion Mashego and ANC Youth League deputy president Desmond Moela during an Imbizo held in Swalala over the weekend.

"Please listen carefully, as a sangoma, I am able to heal people. Even if a man's penis no longer functions, he can go to his bedroom with his wife and the penis will be able to penetrate her. Do you hear me? Do you hear me? Even yours," said the headman, pointing at Mahlobo, Moela and the MEC, to loud cheers from the crowd.

The Imbizo was aimed at forging cooperation between the provincial health department and traditional healers and church leaders.

"I am saying also to every man who has a problem with his penis. I will help him, everyone knows that I do that," said Mabhiva.

Health MEC, Mashego, who could stop laughing with Mahlobo and Moela, said he would visit the headman for some of his muthi.

"To the community, the royal family of the Mashego Tribal Authority, Mr. Mashego, I want to say that those brothers that am working with, if they have a problem, I will give them your muthi. I will come back and tell the community if it working or not," said MEC Mashego, to loud cheers.

Community members also asked the MEC and the minister to persuade the government to allow their sangomas and prophets to issue them with sick notes whenever they fail to go to work due to illness.

They also asked them to help get rid of fake muthi being sold on the streets without any permits or regulation.
