Nettleton Road in Clifton keeps its position as the most expensive street in the country in a new property survey. And nearby streets on Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard take the next five places on the list.

Cape Town is home to 15 of the top 22 streets, with the remaining seven in the Johannesburg suburbs of Sandhurst, Hyde Park and Bryanston.

Data compiled by Propstats and Lightstone, and prepared by Seeff, shows that the top 22 have an average house price of R20-million or more, with that soaring to R45-million Nettleton Road, where the priciest house is worth R200-million.

The data assessed sales over a period rather than depending on recent one-off sales.

Coronation Road, in Sandhurst, is Johannesburg’s most expensive street, with an average price of R30-million.
