The Daily Dispatch reported that Tyityaba nature reserve manager Karl Krull was arrested on charges of attempted murder, pointing of firearm, assault and crimen injuria.

Krull apprehended Lwando Folokwe and Akhona Dyantyi on his  property on Friday then drove them to the Komgha police station where he handed them over to the police. During their appearance in the the Komgha Magistrate’s Court on Monday, the pair told the magistrate that Krull shot their two dogs dead and then forced them to eat one.

The Daily Dispatch also reported that police are looking into the circumstances under which Krull was allowed to leave the police station with the carcasses of the three animals. While the officer who allowed him to leave would be 'disciplined', police spokesman Captain Nkosikho said it would not hamper investigations as crime scene experts had already visited the reserve to recover evidence left behind.

Mzuku confirmed Krull had handed himself over at the Komgha police station. He is scheduled to appear in the Komgha Magistrate Court on Thursday.
