BMW has announced it is returning to the top level of single-seater racing. No, not Formula 1, but Formula E. Sorry, did we not say the top level of electric single-seater racing?

The Formula E race cars, equipped with a newly-developed BMW drivetrain, will be run by the Andretti Formula E team as BMW’s works entry in the series.

It says the driving force behind the new BMW i Motorsport is the development of innovative technology in the field of electromobility which will be spearheaded by the Formula E entry but is also likely to lead to entries in other classes of racing. – BD Motor News
