It was today announced that 38-year-old Formula 1 veteran and current Scuderia Ferrari pilot, Kimi Räikkönen, will be driving for the Alfa Romeo Sauber team from the start of the 2019 season. His replacement? No other than current Alfa Romeo Sauber driver, 20-year-old Charles Leclerc.

It's a game of musical chairs that Ferrari believes will better position itself in the ongoing battle against Lewis Hamilton and the might of the Mercedes AMG Petronas outfit.

Räikkönen hasn't won a Grand Prix since 2013 and his form of late hasn't exactly been all that scintillating. So maybe this switch, this injection of fresh young blood is just what the Maranello outfit needs to up its competitiveness. – Thomas Falkiner
