The BMW C 400 X is finally available in South Africa. Aimed at newbies/riders shopping on a budget, the C 400 X is the perfect tool on which to tame our ever-worsening urban traffic conditions. For not only is it reasonably light (a claimed 204kg – not shabby for a super-scooter) for easy handling and manoeuvrability, the C 400X also promises good  fuel consumption thanks to its torquey 350cc fuel-injected motor. Indeed, BMW claims that this little scoot will sip 3.5l/100km on the World Motorcyle Test Cycle (WMTC).

Don't for a second think it's a slouch though. With 25kW and 35Nm at its disposal, the C 400 X will accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 9.5-seconds. V-Max? You're looking at a fairly respectable 139km/h. To maximise ease of use BMW fitted this scooter with a CVT transmission (you'll love it in stop-start traffic, trust us) as well as ASC (Automatic Stability control) for a lot more confidence when riding in slippery conditions.

Other highlights include ABS brakes, LED lighting technology plus BMW Motorrad Connectivity. This gives you a 6.5‑inch full-colour TFT screen that in conjunction with a handlebar-mounted multi-controller lets the bike sync to the BMW Motorrad Connected App on your smartphone. This means you can access everything from satellite navigation and vehicle data on the fly and with minimum distraction.

If you have a helmet equipped with a Bluetooth intercom system you can also make phone calls and listen to music. What more do you want? Starting at R124 700 the attractive and practical C 400 X is available now at BMW Motorrad dealers nationwide.
