Anger and frustration boiled over as Johannesburg commuters were caught up in a massive taxi strike on Thursday.
The South African Taxi Council (Santaco) embarked on a strike in a protest against the monthly cost of their Toyota Quantum vehicles.
Taxi drivers blocked key transport routes‚ causing widespread disruption across the city.
Commuters shared their experiences on social media as #TaxiStrike started to trend on Thursday morning:
