A second woman has accused South African Football Association boss Danny Jordaan of a sex offence.

The woman, a 40-year-old author, opened a case of sexual harassment against Jordaan this week — a month after musician and former ANC MP Jennifer Ferguson reported a case of rape to the police in March.

Ferguson’s affidavit to police says the soccer boss entered her room while she was semi-naked. “He forcefully took me from behind and I could not defend myself. I entered the state of shock. Mr Jordaan forcefully grabbed me and violently sodomised me.”

The author, who cannot be named, alleges that Jordaan groped her, tried to force himself on her and attempted to rip off her underwear in the boardroom of a five-star Sandton hotel in March 2011, where she was interviewing him for her soccer-related book project. The woman says she was saved by a waiter knocking at the door.

The soccer boss and former mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay has denied Ferguson’s claims. Police refused to comment about the second woman’s allegations.

Jordaan’s lawyer, Mamodupi Mohlala, said the allegations seemed to be “an attempt to render Dr Jordaan illegible to stand for the Safa presidency  [next] Saturday. We verily believe that these so-called new allegations form part and parcel of what we previously said is an orchestrated campaign”.
