Flanked by friends and family, HHP's long-time partner Lerato Sengadi bid the hip-hop star farewell in a heartwarming tribute on Tuesday.
She spoke at the celebrity-packed Johannesburg memorial service and described her love for the musician who died in a suspected suicide last week.
"There will still be so much said, so much done, but I will take those lashings with the integrity and grace of the warrior queen you chose to share the throne with. I will not cower. They will not break me."
Akhumzi Jezile
In another heart-wrenching farewell back in May, mourners watched as Akhumzi Jezile's friends and colleagues thanked him for the times they shared with the actor and TV presenter.
TV presenter Andile Ncube read a heartbreaking message penned by Jezile's mother.
Jezile, of children's show YoTV fame, died in car accident that took the lives of four other people including singer Siyasanga Kobese and actor Thobani Mseleni.
A month later, friend Musa Mthombeni took to Instagram to share his memories of Jezile in a series of video posts.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela
Despite her age, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was an active figure in her community. She attended church regularly and was a lively presence whenever she appeared in public. It's not surprising then that when her death was announced in April, South Africans were shocked.
Madikizela-Mandela died at the age of 81 in the company of her family at the Netcare Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.
Hugh Masekela
South Africans started 2018 off on a bad note. Acclaimed jazz musician, Hugh Masekela, succumbed to prostate cancer in January. Tributes poured in from far and wide, and Masekela's best hits flooded radio and television stations in the days leading up to his private funeral.
At a memorial service befitting the musical icon that Masekela was, longtime friends Abigail Kubheka and Dorothy Masuka celebrated his life in song and dance.
