Haaibo! Candles for Christmas? Eskom has Mzansi peeved
As South Africans count down to the end of the year, this weekend did little to ease the last stretch of 2018 after Eskom confirmed load-shedding would happen.
The power utility announced that stage 1 of rotational load-shedding would commence on Sunday, November 18.
It said it would update customers about the schedule on its website and gave no date as to when full power would be restored.
It's the first load-shedding since 2016 predicted to last for more than a day and Twitter was not impressed.
Did you know @KhuluPhasiwe that the electricity supply constraints in the financial year 2015/2016 had the net effect of 314 hour of loadshedding at 1062GWh. The cost to the economy was R78 bn?— Engineer Matshela Koko (@koko_matshela) November 18, 2018
Don't take us back there please. I left you with a healthy system of 85% EAF. #Eskom
