Haaibo! Candles for Christmas? Eskom has Mzansi peeved
As South Africans count down to the end of the year, this weekend did little to ease the last stretch of 2018 after Eskom confirmed load-shedding would happen.
The power utility announced that stage 1 of rotational load-shedding would commence on Sunday, November 18.
It said it would update customers about the schedule on its website and gave no date as to when full power would be restored.
It's the first load-shedding since 2016 predicted to last for more than a day and Twitter was not impressed.
Loadshedding on a Sunday when demand is so low is quite startling. https://t.co/R4nlR7hUG9

#loadshedding schedule by @CityofJoburgZA is a lie because we are not even on the schedule list yet we don't have electricity 😕😑

Did you know @KhuluPhasiwe that the electricity supply constraints in the financial year 2015/2016 had the net effect of 314 hour of loadshedding at 1062GWh. The cost to the economy was R78 bn?

Don't take us back there please. I left you with a healthy system of 85% EAF. #Eskom
I get the sense that #PravinGordhan is trying to make himslef look good "we must apologise to the country for loadshedding" ...mxm

What are you people using electricity for in this heat? 🤔#loadshedding

So gas and diesel will be used to avert #Loadshedding and then there’s load shedding on the quietest day of the week?
