The Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) has launched a mobile app that allows users to report road related defects.

According to the agency's press release the 'Find and Fix' app will help people report potholes, faulty traffic signals, storm water drains, manhole covers, and other infrastructure issues.

“The launch of this new smartphone app forms part of the JRA’s turnaround strategy and service delivery drive”, said Skhumbuzo Macozoma, JRA Managing Director.

This drive follows a similar service delivery campaign called "Just tell us" - which allows citizens to point out exactly where service delivery is failing via  email, twitter, Facebook, a new service delivery mailbox for service issues, and a new mobile app.

The 'Find and Fix' app is freely downoadable to Windows Phone 8, Android, IOS and Apple mobile operating systems, and will give the city an accurate location for the defect complete with GPS coordinates.

“This exciting and innovative app has already been nominated for a global Microsoft Partner of the Year Award” said Macozoma,
