Early on Tuesday morning Nasa’s Juno spacecraft will meet Jupiter – entering the gas giants orbit. This will involve a tense 35 minute burn of its main engine‚ to slow it down to about 1‚212 miles per hour (542 meters per second) in order to allow it to be caught by the planet’s gravity.Once there‚ the plan is to have Juno orbit the planet 37 times during 20 months‚ skimming to within 3‚100 miles (5‚000 km) above the cloud tops‚ giving scientists an unprecedented view of it.
