Decapitation is no reason to lose your head – if you’re a wasp that is.

This video, originally from 2014, has gone viral a second time as people are in awe of the incredible moment. For humans having your head chopped off is for the most part immediately fatal, but some insects can survive a long time after a sudden loss of height, provided they can keep well hydrated.

This is because these insects have a fundamentally different nervous system. While they have a nerve cluster in their heads, they also have clusters located elsewhere in their bodies that can keep them going for a short while before their inevitable demise.
