When caught in the teeth of a pair of lions, how hard would you fight? This wildebeest showed exactly how tough it could be.
Hannes Joubert from Polokwane told Latest sightings that he saw the two lionesses stalking the wildebeest that spooked and ran. The lions chases it down, dragging it to the ground but it fought back fiercely.
At one point, the wildebesst hooks one of its horns into the leg of a lioness.
"This must have been extremely painful for the lion as it was quite a few seconds that she was hooked onto the wildebeest," Joubert said.
Eventually the wildebeest emerged victorious from the fight, walking away after the lions gave up.
