WATCH | Rat accidentally pulls fire alarm, entire building evacuated

Surveillance footage of a rat that pulled a fire alarm in a building in Washington, US has gone viral.

Published by NBC Washington, the rodent climbs up a bar, jumps up and pulls down the handle of the fire alarm.

Poor thing then drops to the floor.

Residents then had to evacuate the building and it was only after inspecting the footage did officials realise a rat was to blame.
