The country's most style-conscious personalities got together to pop champagne and pat one another on the back at last night's 17th annual SA Style Awards at Southern Sun Hyde Park Hotel, north of Johannesburg.

Top actress and TV presenter Minnie Dlamini was awarded the overall prize.

She won a style double, following up her Style Star of the Year award at last week's Gsport Awards, with the title of Most Stylish Performing Artist in Film or TV, before winning the overall prize.

Other stylish nominees included Yvonne Chaka Chaka, who was honoured as this year's Style Icon.

The red carpet "do" was the brainchild of publicist Jill Grogor.

Thando Hopa was voted the Most Stylish Model.

This is not to be confused with the Most Stylish Model/TV Personality award won by Masego "Maps" Maponyane.

Mi Casa front man Joao "J'Something" Fonseca was lauded as a celebrity with the Most Innovative Style.

His industry peer, diva ChianoSky, was voted the Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music.

Former Proteas batsman Neil McKenzie and his model wife Kerry McGregor were voted the Most Stylish Couple.

The person with real street style, blogger Anthea Poulos of "Anthea Knows Best" fame, walked away with the Marie Claire Street Style award.

The event was followed by a helluva party at the rooftop bar of the hotel.
