The mayor of the Gold Coast in Australia has told Justin Bieber to clean up the graffiti he sprayed in the tennis court area of the QT Hotel.

The graffiti, featuring various monsters and cartoon chracters, was posted on Bieber's Instagram page, where it attracted more than 545000 "likes".

The mayor sent a "graffiti removal kit" to Bieber at the hotel but he had already left.

Mayor Tom Tate also sent a tweet directly to Bieber saying: " Hope to see you back soon to clean up your mess. Make me a #belieber."

The hotel said the artwork would be left for "fans to enjoy".

Bieber also spray-painted a wall in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month.
