Siya Mkhize has gone as far as suggesting homeowners share homes with domestic workers (Letters, yesterday).

I do hope he or she realises what a struggle it is to pay off a bond. Maybe domestics should then contribute.

Would they forgo meals or work for living quarters? This opens a can of worms as many employers are overly generous already.

My sister worked until she could no more. We, all three generations, live together in a modest three-bedroom home and cannot afford a domestic.
