George Clooney in 'Downton Abbey'

Actor George Clooney is to star in a special one-off episode of Downton Abbey, it has emerged.

Clooney, 53, has already filmed the scenes for ITV's charity fundraiser, Text Santa.

The sketch was written to raise money for charities.

The scene will be shown this Christmas. ADownton Abbey spokesman declined to say which members of the cast appear alongside Clooney.
