Johannesburg converting municipal vehicles to biofuel

The city of Joburg is planning on converting its entire fleet from using diesel and petrol into dual fuel.

The conversion will include the city's agencies vehicles including metro police (JMPD), Pikitup, roads agency amongst others.

The announcement was made by executive mayor Parks Tau at the Gas for Mobility Summit held at the university of Johannesburg.

"We have decided that we should convert the entire fleet, we are currently engaging with our fleet service providers about the process," said Tau.
