Senzo Meyiwa's father, Sam is set to return to Umlazi, Kwa-Zulu Natal empty handed as Kelly Khumalo and her family dismiss his efforts to retrieve his son's belongings.

Meyiwa Senior arrived in Johannesburg on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Senzo's sister and other relatives. Meyiwa was intent on visiting Kelly Khumalo's Mulbarton home which she shared with Senzo for a few months before his death.

According to The Star, Meyiwa descended upon the Afro pop singer's home yesterday. The Meyiwa family were accompanied by a police escort and sought to collect Senzo's silver BMW X6 and red VW Golf 5. Khumalo has been spotted driving the Beemer and was previously given the Golf to get around in by her deceased beau.

The Khumalos apparently ignored the Meyiwa family who knocked on the door for awhile. It was only after the police intervened that Kelly, her sister Zandi and mother Ntombi opened and flatly refused to hand over any of Senzo belongings save for his ID.

The Star reports that Meyiwa Sr is seeking legal counsel to coerce Khumalo to hand over his son's goods. Meanwhile Senzo's official provincial funeral will be held tomorrow at Moses Mabhida stadium in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Senzo's cousin, Sam Miya who is the spokesperson for the family said Khumalo was welcome at the funeral despite Meyiwa Sr's prior statement that she was not. He said those comments were said in a moment of frustration and grief. It is not clear if Khumalo is still welcome following her showdown with the Meyiwa family. According to a report, she told her biographer, Melinda Ferguson, that she had no intention of attending.
