Plenty of 'shade' beneath the BS

Minnie Dlamini is staying far away from her TV set tonight when Vuzu Amp's outrageous new celebrity lifestyle show, All That BS, premieres.

Dlamini joined other industry stars Dineo Ranaka, Roxy Burger, Mika Stefano and Lerato Sengadi in the "ladies" group, while the guys' group comprised Shelton Forbez, Somizi Mhlongo, Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane and Larry "Larryngitis" Mncube-Nhlane.

In this four-part series, the boys and girls "will talk about the who's who, all that's new, who is making bank and whatever is making headlines". And very little is off the record.

In a promo clip released this week, Dlamini tells the girls she would marry model and TV presenter Lunga Shabalala, but Ranaka taunts: "Yeah, that's like marrying your best gay friend."

Mhlongo also tells the boys that he does not "swallow".

Although Dlamini wasn't a deer caught in the headlights, she did admit to a bit of discomfort about all the "shade" [a term meaning diss] being thrown about.

"I tried to stay away from the shade-throwing. There were a lot of dramatic statements, but it was all fun and light. It's going to make great television," she told The Times. "I can't be mean, especially because I'm usually on the other side [of the taunts] so I tried hard to stay away from it."

All That BS will air at 7pm on Fridays on Vuzu Amp, DStv Channel 114.
