'Why I suspended McBride'

Police Minister Nathi Nhleko says his decision to suspend Robert McBride, head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, is not political but aimed at getting at the truth behind renditions. Nhleko said McBride had been suspended pending an investigation into the 2010 repatriation of five Zimbabweans, allegedly by the Hawks, headed then by Anwa Dramat and Shadrack Sibiya.
