Medics might be to blame for torchings

Disgruntled paramedics are suspected of being responsible for the hijacking and torching of two ambulances on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. The KZN health department yesterday said drastic action would be taken if the acts were committed by paramedics, who had threatened to strike.Department spokesman Des-mond Motha said paramedics in uThungulu had responded to two distress calls in Vuma and Eshowe on Monday night.
