A dismembered woman's body has been found in Killarney on Tuesday morning.

“The body was discovered between 9 and 10am earlier this morning by a passerby who noticed an arm sticking out of a black plastic bag. It seems that the body had been cut up in to approximately six different pieces and has the head chopped off as well,” Hillbrow police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo told the The Rosebank Killarney Gazette.

“It appears that the body is of a young woman believed to be in her early 20s. Her identity is still unknown at this stage. She was wearing a brown jersey, blue takkies and what appears to be a traditional dress.”

Police do not know how her body was dismembered.
