Now even film festivals are turning on to TV

With television having lost its stigma as the little brother of cinema over the past few years it seems fitting that this year's Toronto International Film Festival will recognise TV in a special programme celebrating the medium's new golden age. In September, the festival's 40th anniversary edition will feature a section called Primetime that will highlight six shows from either broadcasters or streaming services that celebrate the work of independent filmmakers working in television today.
