Rich kids' la vida loca
Vuzu TV's Rich Kids will chronicle just how extravagantly South Africa's other half lives. Exclusive to Vuzu Amp, the show is accessible only on DStv Premium. On Wednesday, Vuzu TV introduced the five cast members of the show, which debuted last night. They are Olivia Cloud, an Idols contestant who made it to the top 16 last year and is still studying for her matric, serial partygoers Bob and Don Manonga, model Babalwa Mneno's bestie Alekssandro Fortunato and Nape Phasha jnr, who has an eye for extravagant watches.Social media's reaction to the show and its stars has been mixed. Themba Matevula complained that none of the five had accumulated their own wealth."They are just #urbanskotanes spoilt kids who are showing off their parents' assets. A rich kid is someone who accumulated wealth on their own at an early age."But Veronica Mere said she was inspired by how business-minded and focused some of the cast were.Phasha, whose episode was the first to be shown, displayed his family's luxurious home and costly cars ranging from several Mercedes-Benz vehicles to a G wagon, a Porsche and an F-type Jaguar.Viewers will also see Phasha buying a R60000 Tag Heuer watch for his 21st birthday.Fortunato has a chauffeur and says the only time he will do his own driving is when he owns a Bugatti or Lamborghini. The Manonga brothers both drive Mercedes-Benz A45 AMGs with personalised number plates.Kitted in a pair of Giuseppe Zanottis, the 17-year-old Cloud said the show was not just about how rich they are but how rich they were in "health and happiness"...
