Desperate to avoid load-shedding? Perhaps moving to gangland will help. The City of Cape Town is considering exempting some of its most notorious gang areas from load-shedding because of crime concerns.Pushing the proposal is mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith, who says outages are hindering officials in his gang unit from doing their jobs in Manenberg, Ottery and Hanover Park.
