The start of Christopher Panayiotou’s bail hearing on Thursday opened with a discussion about why the advocate for the defence was not in court the day before. Magistrate Abigail Beaton had postponed the matter because of confusion surrounding who was representing him.Panayiotou‚ 28‚ stands accused in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court of orchestrating the abduction and murder of his 29-year-old wife‚ Jayde.
