Pears in red wine Ingredients6 large pears750ml (3 cups) dry red wine500ml (2 cups) water200g (1 cup) caster sugar6 cloves1 stick of cinnamon1 bay leafStrip of orange rindWhipped cream, to serveMethodPeel pears carefully, retaining the stalks. Trim bases if necessary to allow pears to stand snugly in a pan.
