Uitenhage war memorial vandalism arrests made

Two women believed to have thrown white paint over the Uitenhage War Memorial statue on Sunday were arrested on Wednesday afternoon. Both women – aged 28 and 29 years – live in Uitenhage and were arrested after a tip off to police.The women are expected to appear in court on Friday.This was not the first time that the war memorial statue‚ situated in Uitenhage’s market square‚ was vandalised.
