Cops nab thugs with police gear

Police in Gauteng said they are on the verge of ending the reign of terror of criminals who pose as cops after seizing police-issue uniforms and firearms, including R5 rifles, in recent raids. Five suspects were arrested in Alexandra, Krugersdorp and in Moroka, Soweto. Two of the suspects arrested in Alexandra are thought to have been involved in armed robberies in Johannesburg's northern suburbs, police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said yesterday.
