Keep Mandela's legacy alive

South Africans should keep Madiba's legacy alive by "living his values in every aspect of our own lives". There should be unflinching sacrifice in the service of all of humanity.Mandela's values are key to unlocking the potential of South Africa for its people.In particular, we need to follow his example when confronting the daily struggles of the majority of our people who are faced with challenges such as having no access to water and decent sanitation.We need to strive for even the poorest members of our society to have access to clean drinking water.Communal and in-house taps must be provided. Service delivery of sanitation facilities must be accelerated and existing sanitation facilities must be maintained.Mandela's concern for the poor, disadvantaged children of South Africa is well-known.Access to sanitary toilets in schools not only ensures dignity but has a positive impact on health and productivity, reduces drop-out rates and encourages regular attendance in those schools.Recognising the importance of good sanitation in schools and the role of pupils is imperative for the success of South Africa.We must bring water to the people and improve the lives of communities. We need to stop polluting and dumping raw sewage in dams and rivers.We need to fight the corruption that hinders many projects...
