Service providers take Telkom to court

Public utility Telkom plans to vigorously defend its decision to extend its net beyond service providers it has contracts with. Thirteen contractors have approached the Pretoria High Court to interdict Telkom from appointing any service provider outside the 22 registered with the entity.The companies want Telkom to give them preference when it needs service providers on, among other things, OSP services, customer fulfilment and assurance services, ISP services and DC power services.
