Out of sync with evolution

In his column on Tuesday "I want no part of God or Naledi", Tom Eaton identified himself as an atheist, then concluded "One day we'll be like Homo naledi - nothing at all". Nothing at all. That fits, I suppose. Atheism leads to nothing at all, doesn't it?If the end is nothing, then the whole grand story of evolution - where Homo naledi leads to Archimedes and Einstein - is pointless.
