Table View police captain who helped gun thief escape is arrested

A police captain from SAPS Table View has been arrested on a charge of defeating the ends of justice‚ obstructing members on duty to perform their duties and assisting a suspect to escape during arrest. Western Cape police said police were arresting a suspect on Saturday 26 September at about 19:30 in Scottsdenne‚ for possession of unlicensed firearm.
