Oscar Pistorius to leave prison after one year – Confirmed

The Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Supervision and Parole Board has approved Oscar Pistorius’s release from prison into correctional supervision. The date of his parole will be from Tuesday 20 October 2015, until 2019. His release on correctional supervision would be a year after his five-year sentence was handed down in court – 21 October 2014 – for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentines Day in 2013.
