Actress Hlubi Mboya and her long-term beau Kirsten Arnold blended traditional Xhosa wedding rituals with those of Scotland at the weekend. The couple, who have been together for more than a decade, finalised lobola negotiations two years ago. On Saturday they tied the knot.Mboya was dressed in a traditional Xhosa outfit, isikhaka, while Arnold wore a Scottish kilt.The couple were married in a private ceremony attended only by close family and friends.In the lead up to the nuptials, Mboya tweeted the countdown using the hashtag #bridetobe.In the posts from October 29 she shared pre-wedding pictures and inspirational marriage sayings."If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it," she tweeted.The beaming bride changed into an embellished off-the-shoulder feather gown as the festivities continued.A traditional Scottish pipe band serenaded the couple.Mboya is known for her multiple acting roles in some of Mzanzi's top soapies, including Rhythm City and Isidingo.She previously said she was a "traditional kind of girl" who took pride in her culture.Her fans took to social media to congratulate her and her husband.@ImKhweziN: "Attending Hlubi Mboya's wedding via everything posted by all her family members online. Lit".Generations actress, Katlego Danke tweeted: "So happy for you sweetheart @HlubiMboya. Wishing you all the best on this beautiful day. May God bless you both and watch over your marriage".In an interview earlier this year, Mboya said that she was worried about her biological clock ticking away and wanted to have children soon...
