A new app will bring former President Nelson Mandela's historic quotes to the palm of your hand. The Nelson Mandela Quotations app - available in a free, lite version and a paid-for premium version ($4.99 or R69.62 at current exchange rate) will be available on Android and iOS platforms.It was developed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg and launched yesterday.The quotes have been drawn from Nelson Mandela by Himself: The Authorised Book of Quotations, published in 2011, which was co-edited by the foundation's CEO, Sello Hatang, and senior researcher Sahm Venter.The quotes are from Mandela's official papers, speeches, recorded interviews, letters, diary extracts and impromptu remarks over 63 years.The foundation's communications director, Neeran Naidoo, said Mandela was an inspiration to all - not only for his charismatic personality, motivational leadership and moral authority, but also for his intellect."Mandela's writings and words are timeless and resonate around the world. We've made it easy to access the quotes from the palm of your hand, wherever you may be."The app ensures that Nelson Mandela's words will be documented for generations to come.
