Credit card debt in SA soars

The total balance on consumer credit cards in South Africa has risen above R115-billion for the first time in three years, research company Experian SA saysl. The average credit card user owes more than R12000 and the trend indicates an increasing reliance on credit to fund the rising cost of living, including paying for food, transport, water and electricity, Experian says.According to a recent World Bank survey, South Africans had more debt than any other nation: 86% of the population. ..
