If ever the value of an overseas professional could be judged by the weight of his match-winning performances, it was Kevin Pietersen's contribution on Wednesday night, when the Dolphins beat the Highveld Lions by one run, after Andile Phehlukwayo defended 13 with his last over. On any other day a score of 174-6 in a T20 would consist of a smash-and-grab half-century and a smattering of cameos.
