Noisy start to ANC conference anticipated

The KwaZulu-Natal ANC's eighth provincial conference is expected to nominate and elect its top five officials today, amid appeals to rowdy delegates to remain disciplined and to avoid shouting slogans that would insult the leadership of the party. Laying down the law yesterday, party officials warned that those attending with the intention of disrupting the conference would "not be tolerated".
